Princess Kelsey Bandar stared at the graveyard of dead warships. Fifty thousand wrecks from the civil war that destroyed the Terran Empire five hundred years ago.
She must lead the fight against the forces that killed those ships. The implacable artificial intelligences of the Rebel Empire.
With five old and damaged ships at her command, that seemed an impossible battle. One she must win.
If you love military science fiction and grand adventure on a galaxy-spanning scale, grab Ghosts of Empire and the rest of The Empire of Bones Saga today!

An interesting storyline. Watching the characters develop from the 1st book till this one was a fun and interesting read.To me it seemed as if Kelsey is a reckless, stubborn princess for whom things always work out in the end, usually through luck. Though why a Marine detachment would need a commanding officer when she’s around is a question I wondered about towards the end of this book.
As for Jared, I keep getting the feeling that he does not step up to a more commanding role and thus leaves command of the fleet and even his ship to Kelsey as he seems afraid to be looked at as the Emperor’s illegitimate son trying to take power. This seems to curtail his abilities in the story.
Towards the end of this book even Kelsey gets her own ship. So now, not only is she the supreme marine leader, she is also a fleet captain. And thus, the Princess Captain Knight. To me, this is a bit much. I am considering if I even want to continue with this series. I’m sure by the end of the series she would become the Empress Supreme Goddess.

Ghosts of Empire Empire of Bones Book 4 (Audible Audio Edition) Terry Mixon Veronica Giguere Yowling Cat Press Books Reviews
Love Reading, some writer are a little hard to follow. Really Enjoyed Reading
I
In fact the whole series is a winner. You have defeated a rebel AI now you can go home. Ah, think again. Sun Tse had something to say about that.
Admiral Jared and Princess Kelsey continue their explorations and interactions with Harrison's World in this fourth installment of the Empire of Bones Saga. Lots of action and political intrigue! Fast paced!
I enjoy this series and find the cast of characters real. This new edition introduced a dark cast of characters. I hope in the next edition the story line comes back together and again sees the light.
Another exciting installment in the Empire of Bones Saga is done and dusted and now I must wait out the months to find out what happens next to our heroes, Admiral Jared Mertz and his half-sister Princess Kelsey Bandar (sigh). Ghosts of Empire picks up where the previous book, Command Decisions left off. It sees Jared Mertz trying to negotiate with the Harrison's World leadership to retrieve his captured crew-men and women. Soon Kelsey and Jared find themselves caught up in the political intrigue that has been simmering on Harrison's World between two factions, the Conservatives who cow-tow to the AIs of the Rebel Empire and the resistance. Most of the action in Ghost of Empire takes place on the planet rather than in space, though there is some towards the end as Kelsey leads a group of marines into battle. Overall, Terry Mixon has produced a heart pumping, very exciting story that I couldn't put down and I wish that he could write at super speed just so I can get my fix of the Empire of Bones Saga.
I have been enjoying this series and think Mr. Mixon does a nice job of fleshing out the primary characters. I don't think this book is as good as the others and it seems to be a consistent issue with books extending beyond a trilogy. The number of story lines and characters seems to overwhelm the author and we end up with staggered story lines and resolutions not making sense in the context of the book.
In the case of the Empire of Bones series Mr. Mixon did something that is a bit of an annoyance to me. Authors use foreshadowing as a vehicle to tip you to future events. In Book 1 Mr. Mixon puts in to motion a series of events that foreshadows an interesting potential for a romantic sub-plot with Empire wide implications then didn't follow through. Foreshadowing shouldn't be a vehicle to intentionally misdirect your readers; it's somewhat like cheating. It's easy to surprise us if you intentionally misled us to begin with.
I will still continue to read the series as I do like the main characters and I hope the series gets back on track; this book seemed to drag a bit and was unlike the first 3 in pacing and character development. I also didn't see much advancement in the overall story line arc.
Here we go for another entertaining episode of The Empire of Bones saga. After the clusterf... by the unbelievably incompetent Captain Breckenridge it is up to our friends to clean up the mess. This of course leads them into yet another adventure on yet another world of the former Terran Empire.
The story this time revolves around the objective of getting their people back from Harrison’s World. Harrison’s World is occupied by former Terran Empire inhabitants where most of them believe they are still part of the empire and are not aware that they are actually slaves of the AIs. To complicate things the people of Harrison’s World has already made one attempt to overthrow the AIs and been severely punished for it.
The resistance movement remains however and naturally they see this moment as an opportunity. Unfortunately they believe that Jared and Kelsey are part of the AI’s version of the Terran Empire so it is up to our heroes to convince them otherwise.
As an additional incentive Harrison’s world is home for the Grant Research Facility, one of the most advanced military research facilities in the old Terran Empire. For Jared and Kelsey to get their hands on it would be a big bonus.
All these elements makes for the usual entertaining ride through a lot of action, suspense, adventure, good characters and nasty villains. The book is nicely written although, after having read four of these books, I have to say that the author could do with an editor. The dialogue is quite fun at times and the adventure plays out nicely. As usual our heroes gains some additional knowledge and technology on the way, as well as new friends.
Some of the adventure takes the form of political power play between those faithful to the AI “lords” and the supporters of the resistance movement. I quite liked the resistance movement representative. Her opponent is evil all the way and somewhat of a stereotype of a political bad guy but thankfully not as ludicrously stupid as Captain Breckenridge.
All in all this book contains the same kind of enjoyable, although not overly deep and complex, adventure plot that we have seen in the previous books. I found it a good reed.
An interesting storyline. Watching the characters develop from the 1st book till this one was a fun and interesting read.
